The week

We're in Ortigia from Saturday 28 August to Monday 6 September 2027. The wedding weekend runs Friday to Sunday; the rest is a holiday together.

Come early. The start of the week is the best of it.

We're in Ortigia from Saturday 28 August. The days before the wedding are where the fun is: the sea every morning, long dinners every night, and the things we've planned together. If you can, be with us from the first weekend, and fit your day trips in after the wedding or on a free day. If you can only come for a few days, land by Wednesday 1 September.

A day in Ortigia

Most days will go something like this. Rinse and repeat.

  1. 9:30Espresso and a granita, standing at the bar.
  2. 10:30Meet at the rocks. Swim.
  3. 13:30Long lunch by the sea, cold beers.
  4. 16:00Siesta. The whole island naps.
  5. 19:30Negronis (and a martini) as the sun goes down.
  6. 21:00A long dinner, too much wine.
  7. 23:30Bar to bar, and a bit of a party.
  8. Nobody saw anything.
    2:00The cheeky pizza on the way home.

    We arrive in Ortigia

    We're on the island from today. The first evenings are simple: aperitivo by the water and dinner with whoever has landed.

    A beach club day

    Loungers, a swim and a long lunch at a beach club near Ortigia. That's the idea; nothing is booked yet.

    A pasta class

    Make pasta with a Sicilian cook, then eat it for lunch. In the evening: Negronis, then bar to bar.

    A sunset boat

    A day by the sea, then out on a wooden boat as the sun goes down over Ortigia's sea walls.

  5. Wednesday1 Sep

    Last arrivals

    If you couldn't come on Saturday, land by today at the latest: Etna's ash closed Catania airport for days in August 2026, and two spare days protect the weekend. In the evening, a wine night in Ortigia.

    Lunch and a tasting at a winery near Noto or on Etna, back in time for dinner.
